MAIL ORDER BRIDES seek liberation in Russia
Russian women have quite a lot that is theirs - a great education for one and they view their bid to escape as a liberation, not subjugation. Mail order brides marriage bureaux are a boom industry in Moscow: dozens have been set up, many of them joining the rush to advertise their service on the Internet. European Connections is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and features thousands of mail order brides on their website Russianladies.com. Its drawing card, though, is its tours and the key to that, says the co -founder, is quality over quantity. For every woman invited to a reception (the women pay nothing), 22 are excluded. After all, the men are paying and, at almost $ 3,000 for a tour, they want to like what they see.
Mail order brides not like American women
Bill Thomas knows what he likes, Russian mail order brides, and what he does not like is American women. 'All of the good ones are taken,' says the twice-divorced 46-year-old from Philadelphia. 'What's left over are the ones looking for someone to father their children, pay for childcare, and have lots of money so they've got something to play with.' If such women exist - and Bill has lots of stories to show they do - then he might be a rather good catch. He may have an 'ugly mug' but his income is handsome enough for a mechanical engineer. He says he's been fed up with 'take, take, take' American women for a few years, but the coup de grace occurred after he put a personal ad in a Philadelphia magazine. Among the 150 responses was a nine -page handwritten letter. He assumed she might be interested and gave her a call. 'The first thing she asked me was, 'What's your annual income?' I said, 'Excuse me?' and she said, 'How much money do you earn?' I hung up on her.
