MAIL Order Brides - the first driving lesson
Oh, yes - - the first few weeks of adjustment for mail order brides... I remember it fondly. Every day brings new revelations. Please, share more.

First driving lesson
Thanks guys,
I apologize for posting without first reviewing....several errors.
We have to get her driving so that she can start her college ESL classes in Jan.....I am so excited to be dating a college girl :saint:
So last night after work I took her to a remote and undeveloped subdivision. We traded seats, I gave her a few cursory instructions about the "accelerator, brakes, signal" and off we went. There are many other vocabulary words that should be taught to mail order brides...for example: Pull over, change lanes, slow down, take off, speed up, turn here, exit up there, look out...
I told her to stop, and she said "what do you mean?".
"I mean stop the vehicle".
"Here?"
"Yes, stop here."
"In the middle of the street (still moving)?"
"ZHANNA, STOP! NOW!"
"Why are you raising your voice at me?"
I explained, and here is the first bit of advice. When we are driving, it could be very dangerous to us and to others. While in the car and during instruction, mail order brides MUST listen to commands and instruction and do as you say and not ask any questions. She would do as I said, when I said it and we would discuss it after she had accomplished the task. It was for her safety. No questions, just respond. She understood and off we went again.
She did wonderfully. She had a good feel for the steering, turning corners, placement of the vehicle on the unmarked streets and braking.
I am going to find some older retired lady to go to our home and take her out driving in some of these safe areas every day for a couple of hours and just get her some saddle time. And I found an internet course that mail order brides could take for the written portion of the exam.
I don't know anything about it yet though.
