MAIL Order Brides - ignore the negative opinions
So for those of you going through this process, don't pay attention to the negative opinions of those who have not found mail order brides and criticize a first meeting proposal, and don't pay attention to the negative opinions of those who waited 2 or 3 meetings and decided to propose. Don't pay attention to those who still can't decide if they want to marry or not after 1 or 2 years of meetings. If you know what you want, go for it. Here's my guidelines on 1st meeting proposals.
Don't do it if:
1) You are desperate.
2) You can't get a date at home.
3) You think you are getting old.
4) The opinion of this mail order brides board says don't do it.
5) You are not sure.
6) You think you must propose because you won't be able to visit mail order brides again for 6-10 months (Proposals by phone are acceptable).
7) Your hair will be much more grey in 8 months.
8) You want to impress someone.
9) You only corresponded with a few letters.
10) You didn't talk to her on the phone many times.
11) You have never been married before.
12) You are under 30 years of age.
13) You interest is solely sexual.
14) You have been drinking much alcohol and have the courage.
15) You think you are ugly and the attention from mail order brides has given you confidence.
But, if you know what you want, "just get er done" (coming from a Texas boy).

nr 11 and 12 might need some explanation; I personally would take them off the list, unless you can come up with a good thought about them.
I would add:
16) You have not seriously discussed possible problems
17) You have never been asked questions about your values and future by mail order brides.
