MAIL Order Brides in the park or at the agency
Donaz - The mail order brides in Sochi sound nice. But I wonder if it would be too expensive to live there during the high season. I am hoping to get by on no more than around $1500 a month in non-dating expenses. Come to think of it that might also be a problem for St. Petersburg, which is probably on the pricey end of the spectrum.

How about spending time in more than one city?
I spent about five months over the past year hopping around Russia, so I'll share a few observations.
Meeting mail order brides in the park, disco, grocery store, is no different than anywhere else. If you're not comfortable approaching strangers back home, you won't be any more comfortable doing so abroad.
Being in Russia, it is extremely easy to hop on to ICQ or a mail order brides dating site and line up a bunch of dates.
Make lots of friends. They will hook you up with dates and introduce you to more normal social situations.
Mail order brides marriage agencies, of course, will be the easiest way to meet women who are serious about marrying a foreigner. Personally, however, I would never ever recommend a marriage agency. It works out for some people, but I have heard and seen far too many nightmares.
Now, here is something strange that I encountered this past summer: The mail order brides I met who signed up at marriage agencies, and were serious about getting married (not just taking advantage of suckers who passed through town), often did NOT want to meet a foreign man living in Russia! In fact, they did not want to meet a man who had been to Russia at all before.
Here is the explanation I received: A foreign man living in or having experienced Russia has too many choices and he can't be fooled. The woman wants to get married now. She does not want her man to have time to sift through many choices. She wants him to perceive Russia and mail order brides as she presents them. She wants control!
This explanation does not surprise me. I've met quite a few guys who went to Russia with a serious wife hunt in mind. A few years later, they are still in Russia, living it up and dating one pretty woman after the next. Once they realize they have so many choices, it becomes too hard for them to choose from all the mail order brides.
