MAIL Order Brides Movie Critiques
Marina and I went to see this mail order brides movie today. Gawd ..........were we disgusted!
Two guys from the Black Hills of South Dakota, live on a farm and make their money from a vegetable stand on a dirt road. Their mother dies and they discover they can't take care of themselves.
The older brother decides that he and his younger, helpless, brother should go to Piter and make a deal with one of the mail order brides to move to their farm (powered by a windmill) to cook and clean for them and in two years she'll have a green card.
So........the two guys go to Piter after seeing an ad in the paper and then doing research on the internet at the local library. The AfA tour guy, Ken, comes off as a complete idiot, saying the biggest mistake guys make is hooking up with the first one of the mail order brides they meet and not doing enough "shopping." He shows off his "hot" RW and says, "see you can have one of these too, but don't get any ideas about mine."
The older brother is determined to shop from his list of mail order brides in the catalog who indicate in their profile that they are "home makers."
They go to a social where the younger bro hooks up with a fox and spends two weeks on a sex tour with a different woman every night. He takes them shopping etc and then back to his hotel. (even stealing his brothers money) to "treat" the girls. The older brother shops from his "list" asking the mail order brides to identify themselves by their name and number. As an aside the only girl he met that agreed to admitting she was on the list was Julia Salova, who is a friend of mine from my first trip back in '99.
The older brother hooks up with a Dutch woman (who speaks Russian) and is making a documentary about mail order brides and socials. He can't afford an interpreter so agrees to have the film maker act as his guide and interpreter. He approaches the process like an engineer with specifications from a blue print. She finds him the perfect RW (on his last night in Piter) to cook and clean. She is a nice girl with no family looking for a better life.
