When I was there ('84 - '93) the places to be were Roman's or Club 37. Then there was RJ O'Tooles if you wanted a more mature clientele. Welcome Syrscuba I note you are reading "Culture Shock" Ukraine. Some of the information there is either already out of date or just plain incorrect. For example the different time in Crimea from the rest of Ukraine. There is no time difference it is totally wrong. My Lora found this and other items there amusing and totally out of reality. So please read it with a grain of salt! We have a 20 year age difference (mid 50's mid 30's), but I think for us it is only one of many factors to be considered. Kiev is interesting, although for Lora Dnepropetrovsk is home. A great get away is Yalta in Crimea in say May or September once you have enjoyed visiting your future lady in her home town.
